I quit dairy after realizing the link between dairy consumption and fibroids. I have been vegetarian since I was a kid and so have eaten a LOT of cheese in my life. I was both distraught and furious when I discovered that eating dairy may well have been why at 35 I had to have a painful and expensive operation to remove the fibroids I had developed and was also told to expect my fertility to be affected.

Since then, I become vegan and have even launched a vegan recruitment agency to help others to do the same. As a vegetarian, I thought I was making the pro-animals choice; but having done the research I now know that the best way to help animals is to refuse to consume them or their products. A compassionate life for me!
